Private Surf Lessons are offered year-round at our El Porto Rosecrans Avenue location in Manhattan Beach, CA and are available to all ages and abilities. Private lessons are 90 minutes long, provide focused, wave-by-wave personal attention, and include the use of a surfboard and wetsuit. Our Instructors are experienced surfers, teachers, and watermen who are CPR and First-Aid certified.
Our surf lessons emphasize safety and fun, but we also take the next step and teach our students to view the ocean with a surfer’s eye so they can safely and confidently ride waves on their own. Our professional surf instructors have taught thousands of students and can assess and address bad techniques so students can improve and move forward on their surfing path. All of our surf lessons include the use of surfboards and wetsuits and we are well stocked in all sizes of both.
Beginner Surf Lessons
Learn to surf from experienced surf instructors. 1-on-1 instruction or add a friend or two. A Beginner Private Surf Lesson is private instruction for you or your group of friends/family/co-workers. It can be 1-on-1 with an instructor or up to as many people as you’d like to bring. We assign one instructor for every 4 surfers in your group.

Surf Lessons include the use of a surfboard and wetsuit for each surfer. We carry all sizes of boards and wetsuits and we bring them all with us so there is no need to specify your height and weight. All you need to bring is a swimsuit, towel and sunscreen.
Private Lessons are offered everyday, year-round, and can be scheduled throughout the day. All of our lessons take place at 38th St. in Manhattan Beach. We meet at the Campsurf Bus in the beach parking lot at Rosecrans in El Porto.
